HUSL Age Groups

Over the years, HUSL has had different age groupings. We realize that this has caused a lot of frustration for parents and players. Below are the age groupings (with date-of-birth cutoffs in parentheses) that will be used for the Fall 2026 season. We intend to continue using these boys and girls age groupings going forward in future seasons:

4yo (DOB: 8-31-22 to 9-1-21)
5/6 (DOB: 8-31-21 to 9-1-19)
7/8 (DOB: 8-31-19 to 9-1-17)
9/10 (DOB: 8-31-17 to 9-1-15)
11/13 (DOB: 8-31-15 to 9-1-12)

September 1st Cutoff
We also intend to keep September 1st as the permanent cutoff date between age groups. An advantage of this is that it matches the Hughson schools grade level cutoff, so that in most cases, kids in the same grades play in the same age groups. 

Coed vs. Split Divisions
At the older age groups, HUSL has sometimes gone back and forth between coed and split divisions (boys and girls). We have settled on keeping the oldest age grouping 11 through 13, which should allow us to have split divisions going forward.
